Haines School teacher Jill Jandacek receives classroom supplies worth $1,000 for her commitment to students.

Haines 3rd grade teacher Jill Jandacek was 1 of only 1,000 nationwide who, on Oct. 4, had "A Day Made Better." Ms. Jandacek was nominated by Principal Jackie Miller to receive a special surprise visit from OfficeMax, and receive $1,000 of classroom supplies based on her great organization, her commitment to her students, but most of all for having a classroom that respects, encourages, and appreciates that children are all different and they should be allowed to be themselves.

People coming from the east will now have to fight through school traffic at Rt. 30/Schoolhouse.Read More People from southwest New Lenox will have to either venture up Cedar, which is painfully slow... or take Spencer from Laraway, in which they will have to cross Rt. 30 to go straight. Won't be an easy picnic.
