Providence Varsity Dance Team Finishes Third in State

Congratulate the team on a successful showing at state!

Providence Catholic High School varsity dance team snagged third place after competing Saturday in the Class 1A state finals at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, according to the Illinois High School Association website. 

There were 90 total teams that competed in the prelims at the state meet in the Class 1A, 2A and 3A divisions from across Illinois on Friday. The top 10 teams in each division, including Providence, advanced to the final round on Saturday, according to the IHSA website.

The team finished on a score of 86.66, coming in just behind McNamara's second-place score of 88.6. First place went to Highland, with a 93.4.

Providence qualified for state by finishing second in their sectional competition at Stagg, just .57 points behind winner McNamara.
