Providence Catholic High School Theatre Club to present Godspell

Theatre Club from Providence Catholic to perform at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Theater.

Providence Catholic High School Theatre Club puts music to religious parables.

The club's fall play is the musical Godspell, which follows the religious journeys of several individuals who are learning the parables of the Bible from Jesus. Written by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak, it was first performed on Broadway in 1971.

The students in the theatre club are scheduled to perform from to begin at 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 1-4 at the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Theater in Joliet. A 2 p.m. matinee is slated for both Saturday, Nov. 4, and Sunday, Nov. 5.

Tickets for all performances are $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for students, children and senior citizens.  For ticket information please call (815) 485-2136 ext. 3323.

According to Jamie O'Brien, PCHS communications director, Godspell is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). The play is directed by Michele Hibbott, Ann Waldron, music director; Rosario Knezz, choregrapher; Eric Moniger, technical director, and Sandra Krejci, production manager.

Musical performance by: Paul Kocsis of Orland Park (percussion), Jason Koth of Homer Glen (guitar) and Erin Martin of Minooka (flute).
