Prospects Baseball Accomplishments Honored

The District 122 school board recognized the 9U traveling baseball team at its Wednesday meeting.

The Lincolnway Prospects baseball teams are so good, the older kids didn't even have time to be honored during the latest District 122 school board meeting.

On Wednesday, the school district recognized the accomplishments of the travel baseball club, which posted a 136-14 record this year among its 9-, 10- and 11-year-old teams. The 9-and-under squad, ranked No. 1 in state and No. 16 in the country, was present at the meeting, but the others were busy playing in the C.A.B.A. World Series tournament.

"We're obviously proud of all the boys," 9U coach Armie Gasbarro said. "This group has done very well through adversity."
