No More School on Election Day for SD 122 Students
Classes will be cancelled on future Election Days due to safety concerns among the NLSD 122 board of education.
Election Day will soon join the hallowed ranks of Columbus Day and Labor Day as a day off for students within New Lenox School District 122.
The decision comes in response to Election Day-related safety concerns, according to the Sun-Times Media. In the report, board President Nick DiSandro says he's not comfortable allowing the voting public access to school buildings while children are present.
