At the Sept. 12 meeting , Supt. Scott Tingley said the $99,744,605 reflects an increase of 1.3 percent above last year’s budget, but is less than the 1.7 percent in the 2012 Consumer Price Index.
He said that next year the district is in for another tight year. “The district will closely monitor expenditures as we go. Our local economy has shown signs of recovery but we know we will not be sure until we see steady, sustained growth. Even with the economic challenges from the state, we continue to see growth in student achievement. We provide strong academic programs for our students, as well as athletics, activities, and clubs at $11,231 per pupil, the 3rd lowest per pupil expenditure in the six collar counties surrounding Chicago.”
