Lincoln-Way Central Assistant Principal Resigns After Domestic Battery Arrest
The Lincoln-Way school board accepted Assistant Principal Thomas Denny's resignation during its meeting Thursday night.
Lincoln-Way Central Assistant Principal Thomas Denny has stepped down from his job in the wake of a domestic battery arrest.
The Lincoln-Way Board of Education accepted Denny's resignation during its meeting Thursday night, said district spokeswoman Stacy Holland.
The Manhattan police arrested Denny at his 16264 Carlow Circle home shortly after 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning. According to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court, Denny, 38, grabbed and pushed his wife.
"Apparently they had been drinking," said Manhattan Police Chief Harold Martin.
The couple also had been arguing about "marital and health problems" prior to Denny's arrest, Martin said.
Available police reports do not say who called the law.
The police reported that Denny's wife suffered a bruised and swollen left eye.
Denny was taken to the county jail Sunday. He was released the next evening after posting $7,500 bond, according to jail records.
