L-W West Varsity Poms Score Big at IHSA State Competition

Warrior girls perform in the Inaugural IHSA Competitive Dance Final.

The Lincoln-Way West Varsity Poms finished in 10th place out of a total of 69 squads entered in the IHSA State Competition held Jan. 26 in Bloomington.

The varsity team's performance was sheer magic, as they demonstrated their finesse with this year's theme, "Magic."

Parents, friends and fans from the Lincoln-Way communities packed the performance gym at Illinois State University, Bloomington, to cheer on their favorites at the Inaugural IHSA Competitive Dance Final.

West Pom Coach and math teacher, Melissa Sweeney, commented on the squad's overall performance in a press release on the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 website. "The 24 members of the West Warrior Dance team felt honored to be a part of the Inaugural IHSA Competitive Dance Final. I am proud of the team's dedication and determination. These students combined their creativity, talent, and effort to achieve their goal of placing in the top 10 at state."
