Musher Mania

“Musher Mania” is a family-friendly dog-sledding program.

In partnership with the Siberian Husky Club of Greater Chicago, the Forest Preserve District will present demonstrations of “mushing” (dog sled racing) where visitors will learn about the Iditarod and the training of the sled dogs.

There are many activities all afternoon: Participants can pull a dog sled in the “human mushing” activity, try out snowshoeing, take a photo with a sled dog, see the creation of an ice sculpture, launch some snowballs, go "ice bowling," and even roast marshmallows over a campfire.

Representatives from husky rescue group will also be on hand with husky puppies!

Snacks and warm beverages will be available for purchase.
