District 210 Former Superintendent Rakes in Highest Pension in State

Among Illinois' highest pensions, are former public school district superintendents. And topping them all is former D210's own Larry Wyllie, reports Reboot Illinois.

It's been just over a year since Larry Wyllie retired from his role at Lincoln-Way District 210—and so far, he's been paid $219,006 in pension.

That's the highest of former public school district superintendents in the state, Reboot Illinois reports.

Recent research into government pensions shows that of the 200 largest government pensions, 76 were school administrators, Reboot reports.

Wyllie was 75 when he retired in 2013, after 24 years with the district. He'll collect $289,861 in annual pension—that's roughly $3.1 million in lifetime payout.

The next highest? Henry Bangser, formerly of New Trier High School District 203. Bangser retired at 57, with an annual pension of $285,945.

Wyllie's at the top of the bunch—see how other former superintendents' pensions stack up.
