Two speakers, Rachel Ridge and Mike Pijanowski, from Lincoln-Way Toastmasters recently received first and second place respectively in their chapter’s Table Topics Contest and will be heading to Watseka for the second round of contests.
Rachel enjoys Toastmasters because “I love public speaking and wanted to get better. And I definitely feel like I am competing against myself continually on honing my skills and always learning something new. And one of the added bonuses that I didn't expect was to meet such positive, encouraging people from all walks of life. It's been a blast!”

Mike feels that the result of joining Toastmasters is “I am not afraid to do presentations at work. I was just given the opportunity to prepare and give a presentation on the restructuring of the section I work in. Without being a Toastmasters member this would have been a scary task. The self confidence and skills I have gained are priceless.”
