Lincoln-Way Toastmasters sends Four to Division “F” Contest

Four Lincoln-Way Toastmasters moved to the next level of contests on March 30th at 10 a.m. in Oswego.

On March 9th, four Lincoln-Way Toastmasters moved to the next level of contests.  Hayward Suggs and Beth Majerszky received first and second place respectfully in the International Speech Contest and Mike Pijanowski and Mark Avignone received first and second place respectfully in the Evaluation Contest at the Area 60 Contest held in New Lenox.  Their next step is to compete in the Division Contest in Oswego on March 30th at 10 a.m. It is free to attend and you will see skilled and professional speakers in action.

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. The membership worldwide is 280,000 members strong. The Lincoln-Way Toastmasters is a local chapter of Toastmasters International, a nonprofit organization who lives up to it’s slogan of “Making Effective Communication a Reality”. Lincoln-Way Toastmaster members join to improve their speaking and leadership skills for possibly landing that job on their next interview, improving their communication skills for their career or personal life, preparing for presentations, getting over the fear of public speaking, or maybe a mixture of all of these and more.

Toastmasters is open to all individuals over 18 years of age. The Lincoln-Way Toastmasters meeting is held at 7:30 P.M. on the first and third Thursday of each month at Lincoln-Way East High School. The meetings follow an organized agenda and gives everyone an opportunity to speak and listen more effectively.
