Lincoln-Way Toastmasters sends Four to Contest

On September 24th, Lincoln-Way Toastmasters have moved to the next level of contests.

On Sept. 24, the Lincoln-Way Toastmasters moved to the next level of contests.  Mark Avignone and Renee’ Perry received 1st and 2nd place respectively in the Humorous Speech Competition at  the Area 60 Contest and Mike Timmons received 2nd place with  Mike Pijanowski being the alternative in the Table Topics Competition.

Mike Timmons likes to be involved in Toastmaster contests because “it’s an opportunity to challenge myself at a higher level.   I find that the more often and the higher level challenges I tackle, the more confidence I build. That confidence pervades every aspect of my life!” Mike Pijanowski says that “being a speech contestant in Toastmasters allows you to come into contact with other people interested in improving their professional lives and to challenge your own abilities in a different way”.

Mark Avignone admits that "By stepping outside my comfort zone and competing, I build my confidence level, which directly impacts both my personal and business life."
