Voter Turnout: Who Was Best and Worst in New Lenox

Only 22 percent of registered voters in New Lenox cast a ballot in the March 20 primary.

About 22 percent of registered voters actually cast a ballot in New Lenox last week, slightly above the average for the rest of Will County.

County Clerk Nancy Shultz Voots originally predicted a 30 percent turnout, but that didn't happen. In Will County, 20.66 percent of registered voters actually cast a ballot. That's 76,827 ballots from 371,928 registered voters. 

The county cut polling places this year to save money, . The highest voter turnout in New Lenox was at , where nearly 29 percent of registered voters cast a ballot. The lowest turnout was at , with just 16 percent.

It's a sign that proud Americans are just so tired of the polarized politics. If you're on the right then don't talk to, agree with, or side with anything on the left. And same the other way around. So what's the point. So this foolish president comes in thinking he can change things.

25% vote and 75% complain... We should make voting mandatory, like the Aussies, and hand out fines to those that don't vote. Just a playful thought...
