ShareFest Goals Join Forces with New Lenox Township Clean-Up Day

New Lenox Township Clean-Up Day is a day to donate your old latex paint to ShareFest.

New Lenox Township Clean-Up Day is Saturday. It’s a great time to get rid of those old half-filled cans of latex paint. Simply bring your old paint to the New Lenox Township Recycling Center, 1100 S. Center Road, on May 4.

Gary Cheney, founder and organizer of ShareFest, has coordinated with New Lenox Township and the Will County Land Use Department to use that discarded paint to spruce up homes, furniture and more for those who need a helping hand. ShareFest is a program that runs annually in early September in New Lenox.

Trustee and Environmental Chairperson for New Lenox Township Marty Boban is working closely with ShareFest coordinators to collect reusable paint. "This latex paint collection begins on May 4th as part of our Township-wide clean up day, and will continue through Oct. 1. This paint will be used for several volunteer painting projects here in New Lenox," said Boban.
