What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

To have a cohesive board that will prioritize funding to maintain quality programs for students and long term project planning to maintain quality learning environments that meet the needs of children academically, socially, and emotionally.

Why Are You Seeking Office?

I am proud of the community in which we live. I have a passion and dedication to education which enables me to promise to be a community representative for parents, teachers, and all of our taxpayers.  I feel it is my responsibility to become involved in things that are important to me and children are important to me.  I want to help students and teachers of District 122 reach new levels of excellence and high performance while being fiscally responsible.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

As a parent of children in District 122, a community member and educator, I feel I have a unique perspective serving on the board.  I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration.  I recognize the importance of collaboration, decision making, and communication for the benefit of students.

How will you lend stability to the board?

I know it is always important to be level headed and not loose focus of district goals. I possess a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and willingness to be a team player.  I feel it is my responsibility to do diligence to be certain district policy is adhered to.  I believe my commitment toward student achievement, financial stability, and a safe environment is consistent with community values and district goals.

How will you work to balance the budget?

I intend to have increased contact with state legislatures holding them accountable for money promised to our children's education and help relieve the financial burden from the taxpayers.  I look to appropriate administration to gather facts, and measure data before making a mindful and thoughtful decision.  I consider the impact spending has on our taxpayers and formulate effects of monies spent.  I believe whatever money is spent, spend wisely and prioritize spending.

How will you represent all taxpayers in the district?

I am a taxpayer, parent in the district and an educator.  It is my motivation to represent all groups.  As a volunteer, as part of the governing body of District 122, it is my ambition to promote and grow our academic excellence and pride of reputation.
