New Lenox Library gets $6,500 Donation

Friends of the New Lenox Public Library donated $6,500.

The New Lenox Public Library got a boost in funds from some supportive friends.

Michelle Monbrod, president of the Friends of the New Lenox Public Library District, presented a check to New Lenox Public Library District President Lou Broccollo in the amount of $6,500.00.  The money was raised at the Spring Arts Festival held by the Friends of the Library in April 2012.

Each year, the Friends of the Library host an after-hours event to raise money for the library.  This year’s theme was Les Miserables and featured a variety of raffles, artwork, and silent auctions for attendees.

With the funds raised, the library will be purchasing additional eReaders and eBooks for New Lenox residents.  Residents can try out an eReader or, if they own an eReader, download eBooks onto their eReader at the New Lenox Public Library District.

NLPLD Director Kate Hall said, "The library is thrilled to be able to expand this collection as it has been very popular with residents."
