Frankfort New Home Construction Rises in 2013

The Village of Frankfort issued 22 more permits for single family homes than in the previous year.

Frankfort's new home construction permits were up in 2013.

The village issued 97 permits for single family homes in the last year. That's up from 75 in 2012.

Single family new construction permits have continued to increase steadily since 2009, according to a statement released by the village, but the largest increases have occurred since 2011.

Construction permits for townhomes also increased in 2013. Twelve permits were issued, up from 10 in 2012.

“The growth in 2013, and for the past 3 years, is a good indication that the housing market in Frankfort is recovering at a healthy pace," said Frankfort Mayor Jim Holland. "We expect this increase in construction of quality homes to continue through 2014.”
