3 Incumbents File for Re-Election on Village Board (UPDATE)

New Lenox trustees Annette Bowden, Dave Smith and Ray Tuminello were the only people to file for the April 9 election. The filing period goes through Dec. 26.

The candidate filing period for the April 9 local elections began Monday, and so far the only people to file for the New Lenox Village Board are incumbents.

Trustees Annette Bowden, Dave Smith and Ray Tuminello all filed petitions for re-election Monday. All three have open seats, but would run uncontested if no one else files to challenge them.

The filing period runs through Wednesday, Dec. 26.

In the last municipal election, there was also no contention for the Village Board seats. Trustees David Butterfield, Nancy Dye and Keith Madsen all ran unopposed, as did Mayor Tim Baldermann.

Smith was appointed to the board in 1990 and has served five terms. Bowden was appointed the following year and has also served five terms. Tuminello was elected to the board in 2005 and has since been re-elected.

The municipal election is April 9. The Village Board positions are non-partisan, so no primary election is needed.

Should of run December 27, 2012 at 09:10 PM
Why didn't you run than? That statement is very cowardly. If you feel that way, you should of tried to run. It would of been better to try and fail than to fail to try.
New Lenox Mom December 27, 2012 at 09:52 PM
I can't say that I understand what makes that a cowardly statement. If I were a much younger person, well you can bet that I would have done what is necessary to work at changing the dynamics of this board.

Age does not matter. Weigel is pretty old and keeps trucking along. I think he is in his 80's.

Maybe for you it does not, for me it does.

Why don't you do us a favor and move out of town. All you do is complain anonymously like the useless coward you are!
New Lenox Mom December 28, 2012 at 04:33 AM
tom berry what is your real name? there is post after post of you being one rude a$$ complaining and name calling...claiming people hide behind initials or post anonymously, all the while hiding behind a made up name! Most likely you don't even live here, you are just an online stalker because you have no other life. You should google the name you are using with New Lenox in the search term. Just a full list of post after post of your name calling delusional rants. Get a life dude!

I think the last name he used was Tom Harris.
