2010 Census: New Lenox's Black Population

Earlier this year, the U.S. Census Bureau released new, detailed demographic information from the 2010 Census in Illinois.

It's the most detailed counts available thus far and shows information on age, sex, households, families, race and more, including the ability to break down information to the block within a town.

Every week, we'll take a miscellaneous piece of information from the Census to help paint a picture of the people who make up New Lenox. But first, we want to see how well you think you know New Lenox. Be the first person to guess correctly, and you could win some Patch swag. 

Today's Fact: About 1 percent of New Lenox residents are black. To break it down more specifically, that's 237 black residents out of 24,394 total. Of black residents in New Lenox, 165 are only black and 72 are black and another race.
