Blotter: Man Gets DUI Charge Going Down One-Way Street

DUI charges
Dean Martinez, 28, of the 1600 block of Cimarron Drive, was charged separately with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while under the influence of alcohol after sheriff's police stopped him in his vehicle about 1:30 a.m. in Joliet.

According to the report, he was driving the wrong way on Scott Street, which is a one-way street for southbound traffic only. He was also cited for that violation. He posted a $300 bond and was released.

Three vehicles burglarized
Sheriff's police are investigating a report that two vehicles parked in the 500 block of Old Hickory Road were burglarized. An iPod was stolen from one and $55 from another.
In the 400 block of Old Hickory Road, someone complained that his unlocked vehicle was burglarized as well. A wallet containing credit cards and money were taken. The amount of money stolen was not noted in the report.
TUESDAY, JULY 31
Ticketes issued
David Goick, 49, of Mokena, was stopped in his vehicle in the area of Morcambe Bay Drive and Schoolhouse Road. He was cited for speeding, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving on a suspended license.
