Car Burglary Thwarted


A car owner spotted someone at about 3:15 a.m. rummaging through their car parked in the 900 block of Melrose, New Lenox, according to a report. The owner chased the suspect, who is described as 5-foot, 5-inch tall man wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants, but lost sight of him. The victim also noticed a second man in his neighbor's driveway.

A GPS unit was taken from the vehicle.

Someone shattered the driver's door window of a vehicle in the 1200 block of North Cooper Road, New Lenox.
