'Turn Off Your Phone,' Says Man to Flossmoor Woman During Movie

A Flossmoor woman requested to sign a complaint against a Crete man who confronted her while she was talking on her cell phone during a movie.

On Saturday, April 28, a 58-year-old  woman told police she was watching a movie at Marcus Cinema in Chicago Heights while talking on her phone when a 44-year-old Crete man, who was also watching the movie, became upset with her.

The man approached the multi-tasking woman, pointed at her and yelled, "Turn off your damn phone," according to the report. The woman told police the man's actions caused her to become scared, though she watched the rest of the movie before notifying authorities.

The woman initially told police she only wanted the incident documented, so the man was released. Afterward the woman said she wanted to sign a complaint, according to the report. Police advised her of complaint procedures.

Police report information is provided by the  and other law enforcement agencies. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. I agree. If she files a formal complaint, will we be able to find out her name?

Sign a complaint for what? What's the charge?

Go to an usher and let them handle it , you don't work at the theater, lucky you were not shot.

Ushers don't do anything in those theaters anymore. They barely sweep up the obvious pop corn spills.
