A semi-truck tipped over late Monday night in New Lenox, closing lanes of traffic.
At about 11 p.m. Monday, the truck tipped while going down the ramp from the southbond Interstate 355 tollway to eastbound Interstate 80, according to the State Police.
The truck, which was hauling frozen food products, came to rest on its side, causing lanes of traffic to close until 8 a.m. Tuesday.
The road is now fully open to traffic.
“The trailer was breached, so some of the product was dislodged, but it doesn't look like it was lost from the trailer itself,” State Police Mst. Sgt. Mark Pilgrim said.
The driver, Roy Peek, 41, of Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving too fast for conditions and improper lane usage. He added that according to the report, the driver had no recollection of the accident.
Peek was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin with non-life threatening injuries.
