Man forgets about loaded gun in car, Parrotheads return from the Jimmy Buffet concert: this week's roundup of drunken driving arrests in the Southland.

July 14: Dee Anna K. Benner, 64, of the 19500 block of South 115th Avenue in Mokena, was charged with driving under the influence, improper display of registration and improper lane use after a traffic stop near the intersection of LaGrange and Steger roads. Benner was released on bond, and her next court date is Aug. 7.

July 16: Steve Crosby, 58, 7333 S. Phillips Ave., Chicago, was charged with DUI after police stopped the vehicle he was driving for straddling both lanes of southbound Halsted Avenue at 12:30 a.m. Phillips had a blood-alcohol concentration of .253, police said.

July 14: David Jones, 24, 4343 W. 77th Place, Chicago, was charged with DUI after he was stopped in the 2100 block of 183rd Street for making an illegal left turn. Police said Jones, whose speech was slurred and difficult to understand, smelled of alcohol, failed field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol concentration of .145. He has a court date of August 29 at the 6th District Municipal Cook County Courthouse in Markham.

July 12: A Chicago man cruising through Oak Lawn was charged with driving under the influence, unlawful use of a weapon, expired plates and other traffic offenses on July 12, reports said. The driver, identified as Brandon Daniels, 27, of Chicago, fumbled through his wallet looking for his driver’s license, police said. While searching his wallet, the officer saw a gun registration card in the wallet. Read more: 

July 1: Police pulled over an SUV for driving without headlights on in the 14400 block of Harlem Avenue around midnight. The driver and passenger were wearing Hawaiian print clothing, and when asked if they came from the Jimmy Buffet concert in Tinley Park, the driver said yes, police said. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol and he failed field sobriety tests, according to the report. David C. Enderle, 36, of the 200 block of Maple Avenue in Oak Park was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

June 29: Police were called about an intoxicated man who drove away from his home in a black Saturn around 5:30 p.m. Police were told he might head to Barraco’s, 18040 Wolf Road, and officers found a vehicle matching the description in the adjacent parking lot near the restaurant, and found the man leaning against the vehicle, police said. The man showed trouble with balance and he failed field sobriety tests, according to the report. William M. Atzhorn, 61, of the 17300 block of Brook Crossing Lane in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal squealing of tires.

July 14: Ashana Casara, 22, of the 21700 block of Carol Avenue in Chicago Heights, was charged with drunken driving. She was stopped at 2:23 a.m. and failed both field sobriety tests and a breath test, police said.
