Shoplifter Walks Away with Bottles of Booze: Police Blotter

Christmas decorations damaged

Police are investigating two criminal damage to property complaints concerning Christmas decorations. The cord was cut on displays at two homes; one was in the 100 block of Wildwood Drive and the other was in the 1000 block of Southgate Road. 

Driving on a suspended license

Javier Zuniga, 28, Lyons, was stopped for speeding in his car at Cedar Road and Third Avenue. Officers then discovered that he was also driving on a suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle license. He was ticketed for all three violations.

FRIDAY, DEC. 14

DUI offense coupled with traffic violation

James O'Malley, 40, Crest Hill, was stopped for improper lane usage in the 300 block of Route 30. At that point, police determined that he had been drinking. He was ticketed for DUI, improper lane usage and for operating an uninsured vehicle. 

Booze made it out the door without purchase

Police say Wal-Mart store employees complained that someone stole a few bottles of alcohol off the shelf.

Rock thrown through car window

Police are investigating a criminal damage to property complaint filed by someone who said a rock was thrown through the windshield of his vehicle while it was parked in the 1300 block of W. Route 30.

Suspended license violation

Marissa Walker, 27, Joliet, was stopped in her car after a random registration check came back that she was driving on a suspended license. She was cited the suspended license violation and for driving an uninsured vehicle.
