Sheriff's Blotter: Thief Charges $1,200 to Mokena Woman's Card in New Lenox, Surrounding Towns

Revoked License

Morgan D. Vanzant, 31, of the 100 block of Michigan Road in New Lenox, was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving with a revoked license. He was stopped on the 13000 block of Smith Road in Manhattan.

Credit Cards, Golf Clubs Stolen

A thief charged $1,200 to a Mokena woman's credit cards in New Lenox, Markham, Harvey and the surrounding area after stealing the cards and golf clubs from her car. The victim told police she finished golfing at the in Mokena at about 7 p.m. and then placed her purse and clubs in the back of her van. She went into the clubhouse until just after 8 p.m. and found her items missing.

Car Burglarized

A resident on the 400 block of Old Hickory Road told police that someone stole a purse containing credit cards and a checkbook from an unlocked car parked outside the residence.
