Motorcycle Stolen

Someone stole a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Honda ATV from the detached garage of a home in the 300 block of Hillside Road in New Lenox. A five-gallon can filled with gas was also taken.

DUI Charges

Eric P. Turbin, 32, of the 700 block of Brockwood Road in New Lenox, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage after police stopped him near 120th Avenue in Peotone.

Truck Damages Crops

Someone driving a pickup truck drove through a bean field in the 1300 block of Silver Cross Boulevard in New Lenox. The property owner received a call from a pipeline worker, who found the truck, and when police arrived the engine of the truck was submerged in a nearby creek. About $500 worth of crops were damaged. Police are still trying to determine who was the driver of the truck.

TUESDAY, AUG. 23

Home Burglarized

An 88-year-old resident is missing $400 and believes a man he spoke with earlier in the day may have taken the cash. The man, whose home is in the 2700 block of North Cedar Road in New Lenox, said someone came into his back yard at about 2 p.m. to ask about property lines.

The two men spoke for about 15 minutes, and the subject then left after getting a call on his walkie talkie. Several hours later, the resident realized that $400 was missing from two rooms. A neighbor reported seeing a car pulling in and out of neighbors' driveways the previous day, and the neighbors' description matches that of the elderly man.

The subject was believe to be a Hispanic male in his late 30s, with a medium build, about 5-feet-7-inches and 160 pounds, and driving a white Dodge Caravan, possibly with a Florida license plate.
