Sheriff's Blotter: Car Stolen From New Lenox Business

Business BB'd
Crest Industries, in the 1000 block of Industry Road, was vandalized. Someone shot the building, its electrical panel and a nearby trailer park with a BB gun, and tore off a downspout, police said.

Car Stolen After Test Drive
Police are searching for a man who drove a car off the lot of a New Lenox auto shop and didn't return. An employee at US 30 Automotive, 12816 W. Clyde Court, said a man on July 23 asked about a black GMC Yukon Denali and a maroon SUV.
The man said he didn't have time for a test drive but was given the keys to look inside the vehicles, according to the police report. The employee said the man left keys before taking off, but the Yukon was gone from the lot the following day, police said.

According to the report, video surveillance showed the man take off with the car, and employees later discovered a returned key was uncut.
No Insurance
Jennifer L. Poindexter, 28, of Pontiac, was stopped by police near Interstates 355 and 80 and charged with driving with an obstructed windshield. Poindexter also was charged with driving without insurance or a license and with not wearing a seat belt.
Tools Stolen
Various tools, including an air drill, air hammer and air impact drill were stolen from a parked car in the 2600 block of Route 30, police said. A tool box and a wallet were pilfered as well, according to the report.

Tires Taken
A resident in the 2700 block of South Schoolhouse Road told police that someone stole the two rear tires off a car parked in the driveway, according to police.
GPS Gone
A GPS and $15 cash were stolen from a car parked at a home in the 900 block of Melrose Street.
