Sheriff's Blotter: New Lenox Man Tried Stealing From Menard's

Theft at Menard's

John R. Sterba, 26, of the 700 block of Prairie Road in New Lenox, was charged with theft Tuesday night after police were called to the Menard's in Homer Glen.

A loss prevention officer at the store told police Sterba took stickers the store uses to mark items as purchased, then put them on things he never bought and tried to leave the store. He was taken to Will County Jail and given a court date.

Old Plank Trail Burglary

A man said that while he was walking on the Old Plank Trail, someone broke a window to his car and stole an Adidas jacket. The car was parked near the trail at Constitution and Schoolhouse roads.
