Sheriff's Blotter: Car Stolen From New Lenox Home

Two more cars in the same block were burglarized before someone took off with the Chevy Malibu, police said.

A car was stolen from a New Lenox home and multiple others were burglarized in the same block last week, according to the Will County Sheriff's Department.

According to police reports, a resident in the 200 block of Roberts Road in New Lenox reported a car missing from the driveway on Monday, Aug. 6. The car was unlocked, and there was a spare ignition key left in the cup holder.

The car, a 2009 white Chevy Malibu, was stolen between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. The sheriff's department has turned over the investigation to the Tri-County Auto Theft division.
