Catalytic Converters Stolen

Seven catalytic converters were stolen from a New Lenox business in the 21000 block of Center Avenue. The owner noticed something that sounded odd while moving one of his trucks and discovered a converter was missing. The checked other vehicles and found the same parts stolen from six U-Haul trucks.

Residential Burglary

Adam J. Pate, 26, of the 700 block of East Joliet Highway in New Lenox; Justin W. Toland, 25, of Joliet; and Carrie M. Maynard, 33, of Chicago, were each charged with residential burglary and property damage. For more information, read previous coverage:

Suspended License

Christina J. Galvan, 25, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license, improper use of registration and driving without insurance after a traffic stop near Interstate 80 and Route 30.

Revoked License

Matthew Havelka, 27, of the 1400 block of Creekside Court in New Lenox, was cited for driving while license revoked.

Christmas Gifts Stolen

About $500 of wrapped Christmas gifts were stolen from a home in the 1800 block of Hermitage Drive in New Lenox. Someone entered the home and took the gifts from under the Christmas tree. They included: two Easy Bake Ovens, two Easy Bake Oven dessert mixes, a children's antique piano, jewelry, two pairs of jeans, a cardigan sweater, three shirts, two Barbie dolls and a Pirates of the Caribbean lego set.

House Smeared With Tar

A real estate agent found tar smeared throughout a vacant property, and told police it might have been the person who was recently evicted from the home. The agent saw black tar smeared on the front of a home in the 100 block of North Marley Road, as well as every door knob in the house. A "volleyball-sized hole" was found in the dry wall, and wood that was stored in the home was thrown throughout the back yard.
