Retail Theft, DUI Charge: Blotter

TUESDAY, APRIL 23

Retail Theft

Sheila Townsend, 36, of the 400 block of North Center Street, Joliet, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. She is accused of taking $35 wroth of merchandise at about 10:07 p.m. from Wal-Mart, 500 Block of East Route 30.

DUI Charge For Joliet Driver

Jennifer Thompson, 29, of the 700 block of Madison Street, Joliet, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance and speeding, according to a report. She was stopped at about 2:33 a.m. near the intersection of Route 30 and Vine Street for speeding. During the stop, police noticed signs the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Thompson posted bond and was released.
