Protection Order Filed Against D122 School Board VP

A New Lenox woman petitioned for an order of protection against Sue Gillooley, vice president of the board, claiming she was stalking the woman and her four children.

Kathleen Jackson, 47, of New Lenox, was granted the order of protection May 17 in Will County Court, according to court records. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning to determine whether to extend the order of protection.

Gillooley's attorney, Daniel Kallan, said the claims were "totally bogus" and "a harassment tactic" in an interview with the Sun-Times. When he was contacted by Patch on Tuesday, he said he had no further comment.

Days before seeking an order of protection, Jackson filed a report with the Mokena Police Department. According to the report, Jackson said Gillooley, 45, came to her place of work in Mokena on May 14 and took photos of Jackson's car. 

Jackson called Mokena police, and while on the phone with a dispatcher, she said she got a call from Gillooley, who said to "stay away from her boyfriend" and that he "does not even care for her," according to the police report. 

Gillooley is an "on-again, off-again girlfriend" of the man referenced in the report, Jackson told police. Jackson said she's only friends with the man. 

Police advised Jackson that she had the option of seeking an order of protection. It was approved in court, and later revised to allow Gillooley to enter . The original order prevented her from entering the school, where both she and Jackson have children who attend. But an amendment was made to allow Gillooley to attend the Bentley Awards Night on May 30, according to court documents. 

According to the Mokena police report, Jackson filed a separate report in February 2012 with the New Lenox Police Department after Gillooley went to Jackson's home and repeatedly called her, according to the Sun-Times. 

Gillooley was elected to the District 122 Board of Education in 2007 and has five children who are either currently at District 122 schools or previously attended them, . She could not be contacted immediately for comment.
