Protection Order Filed Against D122 School Board VP

A New Lenox woman petitioned for an order of protection against Sue Gillooley, vice president of the New Lenox School District 122 board, claiming she was stalking the woman and her children.

A New Lenox woman petitioned for an order of protection against Sue Gillooley, vice president of the board, claiming she was stalking the woman and her four children.

Kathleen Jackson, 47, of New Lenox, was granted the order of protection May 17 in Will County Court, according to court records. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning to determine whether to extend the order of protection.

Gillooley's attorney, Daniel Kallan, said the claims were "totally bogus" and "a harassment tactic" in an interview with the Sun-Times. When he was contacted by Patch on Tuesday, he said he had no further comment.

Days before seeking an order of protection, Jackson filed a report with the Mokena Police Department. According to the report, Jackson said Gillooley, 45, came to her place of work in Mokena on May 14 and took photos of Jackson's car.

Jackson called Mokena police, and while on the phone with a dispatcher, she said she got a call from Gillooley, who said to "stay away from her boyfriend" and that he "does not even care for her," according to the police report.

Gillooley is an "on-again, off-again girlfriend" of the man referenced in the report, Jackson told police. Jackson said she's only friends with the man.

Police advised Jackson that she had the option of seeking an order of protection. It was approved in court, and later revised to allow Gillooley to enter . The original order prevented her from entering the school, where both she and Jackson have children who attend. But an amendment was made to allow Gillooley to attend the Bentley Awards Night on May 30, according to court documents.

According to the Mokena police report, Jackson filed a separate report in February 2012 with the New Lenox Police Department after Gillooley went to Jackson's home and repeatedly called her, according to the Sun-Times.

Gillooley was elected to the District 122 Board of Education in 2007 and has five children who are either currently at District 122 schools or previously attended them, . She could not be contacted immediately for comment.

Sounds like the guy is a nut for dating two women each with 5 kids at the same time.

Wow....these are the people who are in charge of teaching America's Children. And they wonder why we are so behind in education compared to other developed countries. Pathetic!!!!

Good one Maureen!

Your all gossipers! This is a personal issue and has nothing to do with her teaching children. Get over it people!

What it is is a case of someone in a position of great responsibilty that may be displaying behavior , that in the very least, is showing very poor judgment as well as a measure of instability. If there were harassing phone calls, phone records would support the claim.

Who is TOM HARRIS? This is not your name, plus you never have any good to say about anybody.

It is most definately a real case of a school board member who had insecure feelings of jealously and started to stalk another woman whom she erroneously believed to be chasing after her boyfriend. Ms. Gillooley phoned and texted the woman multiple times with threats and profanities and then showed up at her work and home threatening her. The woman had proof of all of it including the testimony of her co-workers verifying that Gillooley showed up at her place of business and called there making threats. The judge issued an order of protection based on all of the proof for this woman and her children. This is not the first time that Ms. Gillooley has been involved in altercations and threats of protection orders. All of this is verifiable by checking the police reports at the New Lenox and Mokena PD's and through the Will County Court web site. Why people are concerned about Gillooley and her behavior is because she is sitting on our school board and supposed to be making sound decisions on our (the public and our children's) behalf when its very clear that she is mentally unstable, immature, volatile, and a danger to the community. The school board needs to take immediate action in relieving this nut bag of her position. Especially since this is not the first time she has been in the news for being mentally unstable and a threat to others.

At 47 with 5 kids, she would really have to be one rocking milf to get a man to sign up for anything more than an occasional date. As it is, I agree with Marie Todd and Crystal Jensen that this behavior is highly inappropriate at the very least ... and I am going to suggest, a bit creepy as well.

I think this lady is Balderman's ex. so that to me would explain a whole lot.

Marie Todd... Thank you for the in depth explanation. This certainly changes my opinion. Having had an ex husband who had an Affair I know this can make you crazy and irrational. She needs to get rid of the boyfriend and find some stability.

Sue is so busy with her 5 kids that she does not need people like Jackson harassing her or L Dominski. Her kids are her life and stability.
Julie June 14, 2012 at 08:32 PM
Hopefully people like Jackson and Dominski will learn not to try to hurt people like Sue. In the long run all they do is bring attention to themselves by going after a public figure.
