Police Blotter: $7K in Jewelry Stolen From Home

SUNDAY, JULY 22
Outstanding Warrant
During a random car registration check along Route 6 and Gougar Road, police say they discovered that 31-year-old Jason Villegas, of Crest Hil, was wanted for an outstanding warrant issued by the Orland Park Police Department. After verifying that the registered owner was indeed driving the vehicle, he released into the custody of Orland Park police.

SATURDAY, JULY 21
Suspended License

Royal McClinton, of Dolton, was charged with driving with a suspended license and for operating an uninsured vehicle. Police say he was stopped for disobeying a stop sign at Route 30 and Prairie Street. He was not ticketed for the stop sign violation; however tickets were issued for the license and insurance violations, and he was released.
FRIDAY, JULY 19
Laptop Stolen
Police say they were called to the 800 block of Laurel Bay, where a complaint of stolen laptop computer was filed. The value of the computer was not reported, but the police are investigating the incident.
Burglar Takes $7K of Jewelry
About $7,000 of jewelry was stolen from a home in the 100 block of Third Avenue. Police said someone broke a window in the back of the home.
