Police Blotter: Woman Uses Fake Prescription, Gets Busted for Marijuana Possession

New Lenox Police reports, May 9-12.

THURSDAY, MAY 12

Stolen Bike

A man on the 500 block of Newcastle Road told police that someone stole a bike from his garage. Police are investigating the incident.

Fake Prescription

Police were called to the Kmart at 1500 W. Route 30 in response to a woman who was trying to get medicine using a fake prescription. Heather Spano, 26, of Joliet, was questioned by police, who discovered she also was in possession of marijuana and drug equipment. She was taken to Will County Jail and the charges were preferred to the State Attorney's Office.

Debit Card Fraud

A resident on the 2800 block of Centurion Lane told police that someone charged about $400 of merchandise to his debit card. Police are investigating the incident.

Suspended License

Thomas Klicoyne, 65, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran his license plate near Route 30 and Gougar Road. He was given traffic tickets.

Police say they saw Teodoro Murillo, 34, of the 700 block of Amber Road in New Lenox, driving without headlights when necessary near Route 30 and Cooper Road. After stopping Murillo, police discovered he did not have a valid license and he was driving with a suspended license. He was given traffic tickets.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 11

Revoked License

Police say they saw Stephen Chadwell, 37, of the 100 block of Batson Court in New Lenox, driving and knew his license was revoked. After stopping him, police discovered that Chadwell did not have valid proof of insurance. He was given traffic tickets.

$37K Taken from Credit Card

A man on 100 block of Batson Court told police that someone used his personal information to open a credit card account and then charged about $37,000 to the card. Police are investigating the incident.

Suspended License

Police say they saw Cesar Cabada, 26, of Joliet, driving with an obstructed windshield near Route 6 and Interstate 355. Upon stopping him, police discovered Cabada was driving with a suspended license and without a valid license or insurance. He was given traffic tickets.

DUI Alleged

Clarissa Cahenzli, 22, of Bolingbrook, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped her for having expired registration. She was stopped at about 2 a.m. near Cherry Hill and Washington roads. She was given traffic tickets.

TUESDAY, MAY 10

Suspended License

Tina Avila, 34, of Manhattan, was charged with driving with a suspended license after police stopped her for the failure to yield near Haven Avenue and Pine Street. Police also discovered she was driving without insurance. Avila was given traffic tickets.

Debit Card Fraud

A man on the 2600 block of Bimini Lane told police that someone used his debit card to make about $1,300 of fraudulent purchases. Police are investigating the incident.

MONDAY, MAY 10

Suspended License

Laura Wahid, 23, of Crown Point, Ind., was charged with driving with a suspended license after police said they saw her fail to stop at a red light at the intersection of Laraway and Schoolhouse roads. She was given traffic tickets.

iPod Stolen From Car

A resident on the 700 block of Lake Street told police that someone entered her unlocked car and stole an iPod. Police are investigating the incident.
