Police Blotter: Woman Charged With Battery, DUI

New Lenox police reports, March 2-4.

SUNDAY, MARCH 4

Battery, DUI Charges

Police say Jessika Carlson, 37, of Crete, hit a woman in the 400 block of Boeing Drive in New Lenox, then fled the scene. Officers found Carlson driving near Cedar Road and Joliet Highway, and after stopping her discovered she was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was charged with battery and DUI and was released after posting bond.

License Violations

  • Enrique Solano, 32, of Calumet City, was ticketed for driving with one headlight and a suspended license.
  • Michael Choquette, 19, of the 500 block of Southgate Road in New Lenox, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran his plates near Route 30 and Nelson Road.
  • Sergio Llagos, 19, of Joliet, was ticketed for running a red light and driving with a suspended license.
  • Gabino Barron, 38, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after police randomly ran his plates near Route 30 and Interstate 80.

Retail Theft

Someone stole a $70 DVD player from the Walgreens on Schoolhouse Road.

License Violations

  • Michael Taylor, 28, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license, no insurance and improperly displaying his registration.
  • Starlette Russell, 29, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after police randomly ran her plates near Cedar Road and Route 30.
  • Jose Burmudez, 26, of Joliet, was ticketed for speeding, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.
  • Rogelio Guevara, 41, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after police randomly ran his plates near Route 6 and Parkwood Road.
  • Patricia Ortiz, 32, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after police randomly ran her plates near Route 30 and Cooper Road.

Walmart Theft

Someone stole boat batteries from a storage unit in Walmart.

License Violations

  • Miguel Lopez, 30, of the 900 block of Herr Drive in New Lenox, was ticketed for driving with one headlight, a suspended license and no insurance.
  • Gary Hervey, 34, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with one headlight and a suspended license.
  • Juan Bomalle, 36, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran his plates near Route 30 and Interstate 80.
  • Blanca Garnica, 28, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after police randomly ran her plates near Route 30 and Interstate 80.
  • Edmundo Hernandez, 39, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and driving without headlights when required.
  • Thomas Kennard, 73, of Frankfort, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance after police randomly ran his plates near Laraway and Stonebridge roads.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 29

Drug Arrests

Mokena Police said two women were arrested on drug-related charges after an officer approached their car in the 11100 block of McGovney Street around 11 p.m. and smelled marijuana. Two bags of marijuana weighing a combined 2.8 grams along with a hitter pipe were confiscated from the car, police said.

The car’s owner, Amanda M. McCrary, 22, of the 700 block of Lexington Court in New Lenox, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A passenger, Heather M. Jungman, 24, of the 27100 block of Route 45 in Manhattan, was charged with possession of cannabis.
