Police Blotter: Thieves Make Off with Laundry Detergent, Dog Grooming Service

SUNDAY, MAY 15
Lots of Dirty Laundry?
An employee at Walgreens, 466 Nelson Rd. in New Lenox, told police that someone left the store with about $70 of laundry detergent without paying for it. Police are investigating the incident.

Suspended License
Police say they saw Jimmy Hartman, 19, of Lockport, make an illegal lane change and pulled him over near Route 30 and Vine Street. After stopping him, police discovered Hartman was driving with a suspended license and no valid proof of insurance. He was given traffic tickets.
Driving on Drugs
Police say Richard Smith, 25, of Matteson, was speeding near Route 30 and Church Street in New Lenox. After stopping him, police found Smith was in possession of marijuana and drug equipment, and alleged that he was driving under the influence of drugs. Smith was given traffic tickets for speeding and released on bond for the possession charges.

FRIDAY, MAY 13
iPod Stolen
A man on the 700 block of Tauber Road in New Lenox told police that someone entered his unlocked car and stole an iPod and GPS. Police are investigating the incident.
Dirty Dog Grooming
An employee at Stylapet Day Spa, 1271 N. Cedar Rd., told police that a customer left the store without paying for her dog grooming service. Police are investigating the incident.
Suspended License
Jorge Gutierrez, 31, of Chicago, was stopped for speeding near Route 30 and Interstate 80, and police also charged him with driving with a suspended license. He was given traffic tickets.
