Police Blotter: Theft, Fraud, Suspended Licenses

New Lenox police reports, May 3-8

SUNDAY, MAY 8

Suspended License

Melissa Gonzalez, 26, of the 2400th block of Ingalls Avenue in Crest Hill, was arrested for driving with a suspended license, police said. Police saw Gonzalez driving with only one working headlight at the intersection US 30 and Veterans' Parkway. The officer discovered that Gonzalez did not have valid proof of insurance and had a suspended license, according to the report. Gonzalez was issued traffic tickets.

Stealing Power

Police responded to a retail theft at the New Lenox Walmart, 501 W. Lincoln Hwy. An unknown subject removed computer adapters without paying for the merchandise, worth approximately $150, police said. The case is under investigation.

FRIDAY, MAY 6

Fraud Suspected

A man in the 2500th block of Daniel Lewis Drive came to New Lenox Police to report a possible fraud. According to the report, the man said a person had used his debit card to withdraw money amounting to nearly $1,200. The case is under investigation.

Wheels of Fire

Police responded to a report of criminal damage to property in the 1200th block of Hancock Drive, police said. A woman said that an unknown subject(s) started a small fire using debris under her vehicle.  The fire caused the paint to bubble. The case is under investigation.                        

TUESDAY, MAY 3

Suspended License

Elliott Baez, 33, of the 14300th block of South Keeler Avenue in Midlothian, was arrested for driving on a suspended license, police said. According to the report, Baez was seen speeding near the 1000th block of US 30. Baez also was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol. He was  given traffic tickets.
