Police Blotter: Residents Receive Threatening Phone Calls

SUNDAY, SEPT. 25

Car Theft

Someone stole electronics and gift cards from an unlocked car parked in the 100 block of Ash Street, according to a police report.

License Violations

  • Juan C. Pava, 29, of Lockport, was charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and driving with a cracked windshield after police randomly ran his license plates. He was given traffic tickets.
  • Stephanie T. Vollmer, 27, of Joliet, was charged with driving without insurance, driving without a valid license and driving with a cracked windshield. She was given traffic tickets.

Phone Harassment

Someone continuously called a home in the 200 block of South Cedar Road and left threatening messages. The resident did not know the caller, police said.

In-State Warrant

While investigating a complaint of a solicitor, police questioned a suspect and discovered he had an in-state warrant for his arrest. Eric J. Picazzo, 21, of Chicago, was released after posting bond.

  • Carlos Rodriguez-Martinez, 27, of Lockport, was charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and driving with a cracked windshield. He was given traffic tickets.
  • Arteshsia M. Moore, 21, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a suspended license and without insurance after police randomly ran her license plates near Greeley Drive and Maple Road. She was given traffic tickets. 
  • Monica D. Woolard, 52, of the 1500 block of Regan Road in New Lenox, was charged with driving with a suspended license and without insurance after police randomly ran her license plates near Washington and Cass streets. She was given traffic tickets.

Truck Burglarized

Someone stole the tailgate off a pickup truck that was parked in the 700 block of Long Lane.

DUI Charges

Bradley S. Dowding, 25, of Lockport, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, crossing the center lane and leaving the roadway. Police said Dowding's car crossed the traffic lanes and went off the street at Cedar and Lenox roads at about 2:25 a.m. He was released after posting bond and was also given traffic tickets.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 23

License Violations

  • Stephen D. Cannon, 36, of the 1900 block of Heatherway Lane in New Lenox, was charged with driving with a suspended license and without insurance after police randomly ran his license plates at Heatherway and Shagbark Road. He was given traffic tickets.
  • Gylmar X. Ponce, 21, of Summit, was charged with speeding, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance. He was given traffic tickets.
