Police Blotter: Parent Threatens Child Who Made Fun of His Autistic Son

New Lenox Police reports, April 11-14.

Thursday, April 14

Walmart Theft

Roberto Mosqueda, 31, of Joliet, was charged with retail theft after police say he took about $25 in merchandise from Walmart without paying for it. He was released on bond.

Aerator Stolen

A resident on the 18000 block of Gougar Road told police that someone removed an aerator from a well at the location. It was valued at about $850. Police are investigating the incident.

Suspended License

Nicole Nunez, 23, of Joliet, was stopped by police after they noticed she was driving without brake lights. Upon pulling her over, police discovered she was driving with a suspended license. Nunez was given traffic tickets.

Melissa Whitton, 33, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran her registration near Route 6 and Farrell Road. She was given traffic tickets.

Wednesday, April 13

Suspended License

Ubaldo Espinoza, 32, of Bolingbrook, was charged with driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran his registration near Route 6 and Gougar Road. He was given traffic tickets.

Marilyn Jones, 45, of the 300 block of Hughes in New Lenox, was charged with driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran her registration near Route 30 and Gougar Road. She was given traffic tickets.

Weed Possession

Jennifer Price, 19, of Mokena, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug equipment after police were called to investigate at the MacKay Education Center. Price was released on bond.

Tuesday, April 12

Verbal Threats at Walmart

A Walmart employee called police to the store to report that a man threatened to harm a customer's child. The man left before police arrived but said he was upset that the child he threatened was making fun of his autistic child. A reader said the person assaulted her child and that there was no sign of an autistic child, though police could not confirm whether there was because the man left. Police said no one was physically harmed, and they are reviewing Walmart video surveillance to investigate the incident.*

Speeding

Police say they saw Florentino Chaidez, 27, of Aurora, speeding near Veterans Parkway and Haven Avenue and pulled him over. After stopping him, they discovered he was driving with a suspended license and without insurance. Chaidez was given traffic tickets.

Power Tools Stolen

A New Lenox man on the 200 block of Vine Street told police that someone took power tools from his unlocked vehicle. The tools were valued at about $1,000. Police are investigating the incident.

Monday, April 11

Speeding 

Mark Unstattd, 26, of Chicago, was stopped by police after they say they saw him speeding near Route 30 and Cedar Road. Upon pulling him over, police discovered Unstattd was driving with a suspended license and without insurance. He was given traffic tickets.

Air Guitar

A man on the 600 block of Grace told police that he left his guitar at a friend's house, and now cannot locate the guitar. Police are investigating the incident.

What Happens in Vegas ... Still Affects Others

A man on the 200 block of Manor Drive told police that someone was using his banking information to make about $800 of purchases in Las Vegas. Police are investigating the incident.

Not Nice to See You

Police were called to the 1200 block of Cedar Road to investigate a violation of an order of protection, similar to a restraining order. Thomas Keith, 26, of Mokena, was taken to Will County jail after police confirmed he was in contact with a family member when he was not supposed to be.
