THURSDAY, AUG. 4

Woman Gives Police Fake Name 

Police stopped Margaret Mines, 50, of Dixmoor, after randomly running her license plates and discovering she had a suspended license. When police questioned Mines, she gave a fake name, police said. She was given a traffic ticket for the suspended license and posted bond for obstructing a police officer. 

Revoked License

Dennis A. Hackett, 53, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a revoked license after police randomly ran his license plates near 1800 W. Route 30. He was given a traffic ticket.

In-State Warrant

While patrolling near Gougar Road and Maple Avenue, police saw Rigoberto Valadez, 31, of Joliet, driving without a front license plate. Police stopped him and discovered he had a warrant for his arrest in LaSalle County. Valadez was given a traffic ticket for the license plate violation and posted bond for the warrant. 

Car Windows Smashed

Two residents told police their car windows were shattered. The first incident was on the 800 block of Western Avenue, and the second was on the 900 block of Wildwood Drive.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 3

Man Calls 911 Repeatedly

John A. Durovec, 45, of the 600 block of Wisconsin Road in New Lenox, was charged with disorderly conduct after repeatedly calling 911 on Wednesday evening, police said. Police didn't immediately have further information about the nature of Durovec's calls. He posted bond and was released. 

Walmart Prescription Stolen

A man called police to Walmart, 501 E. Route 30, to report that someone picked up a prescription in his name without permission.

Drug Equipment

Jose Ramirez, 26, of Joliet, was stopped by police near Route 30 and Interstate 80 after they saw him driving without a front license plate. Police discovered that Ramirez was also driving with a suspended license and possessed drug equipment. He was given traffic tickets. 

TUESDAY, AUG. 2

Wheeled Away

A resident on the 2800 block of Sharon Drive told police that someone stole a wheelbarrow from his driveway. 

Weed Possession

Stacy A. Guerrero, 30, of Joliet, was charged with possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana after she was stopped by police near Route 30 and Williams Street. Police said they saw Guerrero driving with expired registration, and after pulling her over also discovered she had a revoked driver's license and was driving without insurance. She was given traffic tickets.

Vehicle Burglarized

Someone stole a wallet and electronics from an unlocked car on the 1000 block of O'Connell Circle in New Lenox, a resident told police.

MONDAY, AUG. 1

Suspended License/Registration

  • David W. Walker, 43, of Joliet, was charged with driving with suspended registration and no insurance after police stopped him near Route 30 and Interstate 80. He was given traffic tickets. 
  • David A. Mcelrath, 22, of Lockport, was charged with driving with an obstructed windshield and a suspended license after police stopped him near Francis and Gougar roads. He was given traffic tickets.
  • David Roman, 21, of Hammond, Ind., was charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding after he failed to reduce speed to avoid a car accident. He was given traffic tickets. 
  • Gustavo Montalvo, 43, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a suspended license, no insurance and disobeying a traffic light after police stopped him on West Haven Avenue. He was given traffic tickets.
