Police Blotter: Man Gets Wakeup Call, DUI Charge After Passing Out Behind Wheel

New Lenox police reports, March 18-20

Sunday, March 20

Drug Possession

Jake Stevens, 20, of Manhattan, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug equipment Sunday after police said they stopped him near Route 30 and Vine Street. Police say they saw Stevens driving without a front license plate, and after pulling him over, discovered he was driving with a suspended license and drugs in the car. Stevens was given traffic citations and a notice to appear in court for the drug charges.

Property Damage

A man on the 700 block of Brockwood Road told police that someone damaged the siding to his house. Police are investigating the incident. A woman on the 200 block of Central Road also reported that the siding to her house was damaged.

Hub Cap Theft

A man on the 2400 block of Daniel Lewis Drive told police that the center hub caps were taken from his Chevrolet Silverado. Police are investigating the incident.

DUI Alleged

Ted Dudeck, 50, of Joliet, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs after police said they stopped him at 2 a.m. Sunday near Route 30 and Nelson Road. Police say Dudeck didn't have a front license plate or rear plate lights, and after stopping him, discovered he possessed drug equipment. Dudeck also was given traffic citations.

Saturday, March 19

Revoked License

Javier Villasenor, 39, of Manhattan, was stopped by police after they say they saw him run through a stop sign at Route 6 and Gougar Road. Police discovered Villasenor was driving with a revoked license and no valid proof of insurance, according to reports. He was given traffic citations.

Drinking and Driving and Napping

Police said they were called to Laraway and Spencer roads at about 6 a.m. Saturday and found a man passed out behind the wheel of his car, which was parked in the road. Leonard Lamaster, 29, of Crestwood, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, parking in a roadway and driving without insurance. He also was given traffic citations.

Friday, March 18

Golden Nail Burglarized

Someone broke the front window of Golden Nail, 2340 E. Route 30, and took a flat-screen TV and about $100 from the register. Police are investigating the incident.
