Police Blotter: Man Charged With DUI, Drug Possession

THURSDAY, DEC. 15

Kmart Theft

Someone stole a purse and keys from an unattended cart at the Kmart in New Lenox at about 6 p.m.

DUI, Possession

Brian K. Reilly, 22, of the 900 block of Bryan Trail in New Lenox, was stopped by police after they said he ran a stop sign at Haven Avenue and Prairie Road at 12:54 a.m. Police determined Reilly was driving under the influence of alcohol, and after searching his car found 17 grams of marijuana and a pipe.

He was given tickets for disobeying the stop sign, driving without insurance and driving without a registration sticker or registration light. Reilly was also given a court date for the DUI and possession charges.

Walmart Theft

Patricia F. Patton, 45, of Joliet, was charged with retail theft after she loaded a shopping cart full of items and left Walmart without paying, police said. Patton was located outside the store, at which point police discovered she had a warrant for her arrest. She was taken to Will County Jail.

MONDAY, DEC. 12

Groceries Stolen

Raymond D. Brnca, 77, of Joliet, was charged with retail theft after he left the Jewel Osco on Nelson Road without paying for his groceries. He posted bond and was given a court date.

License Violations

  • Mario Leon, 31, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran his license plates near Cardinal Drive and Laraway Road.
  • Javier Magana, 35, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and having expired registration.

Credit Fraud

A resident told police that personal credit card information was used by an unknown person to make various purchases.
