Police Blotter: Mailbox Damaged; Harassing Call Received

Parole Violation

Donald Ekhoff, 36, of the 200 block of Anderson Road, was charged with a parole violation from the Illinois Department of Corrections. An officer observed the subject near Route 30 and Walona Drive and knew he had a warrant for his arrest. Ekhoff was transported to the Will County adult detention facility.

Suspended License

Matthew Sefcik, 44, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a suspended license, which police discovered after pulling him over at Gougar and Maple roads for having only one tail light. Sefcik was issued a traffic citation.

Jewelry Stolen

A New Lenox woman reported to police that jewelry was taken from her home while she was away for a few days. The home, which is on the 1000 block of Kris Drive, showed signs of forced entry.

Revoked License

Daniel Sanders, 20, of the 2000 block of Quails Roost Drive, was charged with running a red light and driving with a revoked license. He was issued citations.

Harassment Call

A resident on the 900 block of Western Avenue told police that an unknown person made a harassing telephone call at 7:16 a.m. Saturday and then hung up.

Underaged Drinking

Eleven teenagers with the underage possession and consumption of alcohol at a residence on the 300 block of Otto Drive early Saturday morning. The teens charged were Arnie Albrecht, 19, of the 300 block of Otto Drive; Jeffrey Andrews, 18, of Manhattan; Kathleen Haggerty, 18, of Orland Park; and eight others who are considered juveniles at 17 years old. The juveniles included six males and one female from New Lenox and one male from Manhattan.

Suspended License

Fihmi Jarad, 34, of Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended license, expired registration and only one headlight. Fihmi was issued compliance citations for one headlight and expired registration and issued a traffic citation for driving while license suspended.

Burglary Arrests

Michelle DeFrank, 28, of New Lenox, and David Carey, 30, of Mokena, to the New Lenox Village Mart, 1306 N. Cedar Rd., at about 12:07 a.m. Friday. DeFrank was charged with one count of burglary, three counts of vehicle burglary and two counts of criminal damage to property, and Carey was charged with one count of burglary. Both were transported to the Will County Detention Facility pending a bond hearing.

Mailbox Damaged

A resident on the 700 block of Northern Lights Way told police that the home's mailbox was damaged.
