Police Blotter: Joliet Man Accused of Pushing Cop at White Horse Inn

New Lenox Police reports, Feb. 4-6.

SUNDAY, FEB. 6

DUI Alleged

Jessica Carter, 32, of Mokena, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at about 2 a.m. Sunday on the 500 block of East Route 30. New Lenox police officers said they saw Carter speeding and running a red light, and also charged her with improper lane use and not having a rear registration light. Carter was issued citations for all traffic violations.

SATURDAY, FEB. 5

DUIs Alleged

Daniel Harenberg, 48, of the 1700 block of Stonebridge Drive, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after New Lenox police say they saw him fail to signal. He was pulled over at 11:45 p.m. on the 1500 block of West Route 30, and officers issued him citations for the DUI, the failure to signal and for driving without valid proof of insurance.

Joseph Stavola, 43, of Manhattan, was pulled over by New Lenox police at midnight Saturday after they say they saw him speeding near the 1800 block of West Route 30. Police say Stavola was driving under the influence of alcohol and issued him citations for the DUI and speeding.

Police say they saw Leocadio Castillo, 29, of Posen, looking distressed on the side of the road near Route 30 and Interstate 80 and went to see if he needed help. They discovered he was driving under the influence of alcohol, illegally transporting alcohol and driving without insurance. He was given citations for all violations.

Walmart Theft

An officer was called to Walmart in New Lenox for a report of a previous theft. A store employee told police that a man grabbed two hard drives, valued at $130 each, stuffed them in his coat and fled the store without paying.

FRIDAY, FEB. 4

Officer Hit at White Horse

Police were called to the White Horse Inn, 348 W. Maple St., to break up a fight at about 9:30 p.m. Friday. The caller told police that Bradley Hartong, 32, of Joliet, was intoxicated and got into a fight with another patron after he was asked to leave. Police say they were escorting Hartong from the White Horse when he pushed the officer and grabbed his duty belt. Hartong was released on bond for battery, and his charges were preferred to the Will County State Attorney.

Unwanted Delivery

A man on the 400 block of Essex Lane told police that someone damaged his mailbox. Police are investigating the incident.
