Police Blotter: Harassing Texts, NL Man Assaulted

SUNDAY, DEC. 4

Walmart Theft

Terry L. Kreider, 40, of the 700 block of Bittersweet Lane in New Lenox, was charged with retail theft following an incident at Walmart. Police said Kreider switched a price tag on a Christmas tree at Walmart to make it $15 cheaper and left the store without paying the full price. She posted bond and was given a court date.

Battery

Ryan D. Jennings, 24, of Manhattan, was charged with battery after police got a call at about 3 a.m. from someone in the 700 block of Bon Terre Road who said Jennings hit in him the face. The victim was taken to Silver Cross Hospital and treated for minor facial injuries. Jennings posted bond and was given a court date.

SATURDAY, DEC. 3

Phone Harassment

A resident in the 700 block of Sojourn Road told police that an unknown was repeatedly sending threatening text messages.

License Violations

  • Craig K. Mosley, 40, of Chicago, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license, expired registration and no insurance.
  • Edward J. Luebke 49, of Lockport, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and without insurance after police randomly ran his plates near Route 30 and Interstate 80.

FRIDAY, DEC. 2

In-State Warrant

Larry D. Robinson, 30, of Joliet, was taken to Will County Jail after police randomly ran his plates and turned up two in-state warrants for his arrest.

Ring Stolen

A resident in the 100 block of West Third Avenue told police that a $3,500 ring was missing from his home following a party.

License Violations

  • Shirley L.M. Appleby, 22, of University Park, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and speeding.
  • Richard L. Highman, 42, of Lockport, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and expired registration.
