Police Blotter: Gun Scare Brings Assault Charge for New Lenox Teen

New Lenox Police reports, Sept. 9-12.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 11

Suspended License

  • Rigoberta Aliviter, 32, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a suspended license and without insurance after police randomly ran his license plates near Route 30 and Gougar Road in New Lenox. He was given traffic tickets.
  • Jose L. Amezcua, 23, of Lockport, was charged with driving with a suspended license, and without insurance after police randomly ran his license plates near Route 30 and Gougar Road in New Lenox. He was given traffic tickets.
  • Scondreka R. Mays, 41, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a suspended license and without insurance after police randomly ran her license plates near Greeley Road and Maple Street in New Lenox. She was given traffic tickets.
  • Danny A. Renfro, 35, of Midlothian, was charged with driving with a suspended license, without insurance and with expired registration. He was given traffic tickets.
  • William M. Werch, 61, of the 1100 block of Pine Place in New Lenox, was charged with driving with a suspended license, without insurance and with an obstructed view. He was given traffic tickets.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 10

Gun Scare

A New Lenox teen was charged with assault after police responded to a complaint and found an Airsoft gun on him. Another teen, of the 1000 block of Stonebridge Road, called police Saturday evening and said the juvenile had a gun. Police investigated the call and determined it was an Airsoft weapon. No further information was released because the people involved were juveniles.

No License

  • Edward G. Cochran, 22, of the 100 block of Twilight Lane in New Lenox, was charged with driving without a valid license for his motorcycle. He was given a traffic ticket.
  • Jacob F. Mentzer, 21, of the 1200 block of Revere Court in New Lenox, was charged without a valid license and without insurance after police randomly ran his license near Haven Avenue and Prairie Road. He was given traffic tickets.

Property Damage

  • Someone damaged the fence at a residence on the 1200 block of O'Connell Circle in New Lenox.
  • A window was broken at the MacKay Education Center, 516 S. Cedar Road.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 9

Suspended License

  • Alejandro R. Banda, 41, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a suspended license and without insurance after police randomly ran his license plates near Spring Creek Drive and Maple Road in New Lenox. He was given traffic tickets.
  • Rosbalda Guzman, 30, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and running a red light at Gougar Road and Illinois Highway. She was given traffic tickets.
  • Ubaldo Pena, 36, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a suspended license and without insurance after police randomly ran his license plates near Route 30 and Gougar Road in New Lenox. He was given traffic tickets.
  • Kenya J. Riley-Shelton, 37, of Joliet, was charged with driving with a suspended license and without lights after police randomly ran her license plates near Route 30 and Interstate 80 in New Lenox. She was given traffic tickets.
