Police Blotter: Fraud Identity Used for Phony Cable Account

THURSDAY, JULY 19
Outstanding Warrant
Police say they saw Bridget Dezee, 33, of Joliet, driving with an expired registration in the area of Cass and Washington streets. An investigation revealed that she had an outstanding warrant from the Lemont Police Department for failure to appear in court. She was released in the custody of the Lemont Police Department.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 18
Cell Phone Charger Stolen

Gregory Grimiler, 28, of Dyer, Ind., was charged with retail theft of a cell phone charger from Circle K in the 400 block of Nelson Road. Police say they discovered that Grimiler was also wanted on a warrant out of Chicago. He was arrested and taken to the Will County Adult Detention facility.
Failure to Pay Restaurant Tab
Police say they were called to Pizza Hut Restaurant in the 300 block of W. U.S. Route 30 where a complaint was filed after a patron left the restaurant without paying for a $16 order.
TUESDAY, JULY 17
Three Traffic Tickets Issued
Daniel Harfman, 44, of Joliet, was stopped in his car at Francis and Gougar Roads. Police say he was speeding. When he was pulled over, he was issued tickets for three moving violations—speeding, driving while license revoked and operating an uninsured vehicle.
MONDAY, JULY 16
Cable Account Opened Fraudulently
Police say they are investigating a fraud complaint filed by a resident in the 1000 block of Midnight Pass. According to the report, someone opened a Comcast account using his information.
Money Stolen From Car
Police say they were called to the 600 block of Ogden Road to investigate a car burglary. Someone stole change that was left in an unlocked vehicle.
Car Burglary
Police responded to the 600 block of Ogden Road to investigate a car burglary complaint. According the report, an XM radio was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Home Repairs Never Completed
Police are investigating fraud charges by a homeowner in the 600 block of Lenox Street. The victim said she paid a man $500 to do repair work on her home. The work was never completed, and she is unable to contact him.
Expired Resgistration
Grant Peterson, 30, of Homer Glen, was stopped in his vehicle in the area of Edgecreek Drive and Gougar Road, when police noticed his registration was expired. Police say they discovered that Peterson's license had also been suspended.
