Police Blotter: Fight at Pit Stop, Warrant for DUI Charges

New Lenox police reports, Jan. 16-20.

THURSDAY, JAN. 19

Battery

Police were called to Pit Stop, 225 E. Maple St., in response to a fight in the parking lot. Three unknown people were arguing and it turned physical outside. Chief Bob Sterba said no one pressed charges and there weren't any injuries.

Identity Theft

A resident in the 200 block of Rossford Lane told police that someone used his identity to make fraudulent claims on his insurance policy.

In-State Warrant

While on patrol an officer saw a man walking down Route 30, and after talking to him discovered he had an active warrant for his arrest. David McUmber, 20, of Channahon, was transferred into the custody of the Will County Sheriff's Department.

TUESDAY, JAN. 17

License Violations

  • Brett R. Ferm, 22, of the 1000 block of Stonegate Road in New Lenox, was ticketed for driving with a revoked license, improper display of registration and driving without insurance.
  • Andrew J. Piribauer, 20, of the 1000 block of Sweetwater Trail in New Lenox, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license, a cracked windshield and no front license plate.
  • Lisa M. Randich, 28, of Joliet, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license, improper display of registration and driving without insurance.

MONDAY, JAN. 16

In-State Warrant

Benjamin P. Cash, 28, of the 600 block of Princeton Lane in New Lenox, was ticketed for driving with a broken muffler and no insurance. After stopping Cash, police discovered an active in-state warrant for his arrest from the Orland Park Police Department.

In May 2011, Cash . Orland Park police said they stopped Cash’s car at 159th Street and 108th Avenue around 2 a.m. for crossing into oncoming traffic and nearly colliding with a squad car.

Deceptive Practice

Someone obtained currency from a location in the 300 block of West Maple Street by using a "quick change" technique.

Property Damage

The tires were slashed on a car parked in the 600 block of Oxford Court.

Cars Burglarized

Two people reported that change was stolen from their unlocked cars. The first incident was in the 2600 block of Foxwood Drive and the second was in the 600 block of Northern Lights Way.

License Violations

  • Edward A. Harrison, 44, of Woodridge, was ticketed for driving with a suspended license after police randomly ran his plates near Route 30 and Interstate 80.
  • Trinidad Lucas, 25, of Rockdale, was ticketed for driving without a valid license after police randomly ran his plates near Route 30 and Interstate 80.
